Episode 18 - Mother's Day
Yesterday, Sunday, May 9th was Mother's Day here in the U.S.and it really got me thinking about mother/baby bonds and how humans act as if we are the only species who experience this. In today’s episode I will touch on 3 mother/baby bonds, cows, pigs, and chickens. This is a short, powerful episode you don't want to miss.

In today’s episode, you’ll meet my friend Laura Conway. Laura is a vegan mom in a non-vegan family. She’s been vegan for almost 4 years and lives in Pennsylvania with her husband of 13 years, Chris, their 2 daughters, Peyton and Riley, 2 cats, Bailey and Killian, and 3 rats Rhys,, Pepper and Brownie. Her cats and rats are all rescues! Laura was a stay at home mom for 7 years, and previously worked as a Preschool teacher. When her youngest daughter went to preschool at 4, Laura started working there, and she now serves as a 1 on 1 learning support paraprofessional at an elementary school. She is also part of a wonderful organization called The Boyertown Junior Woman’s Club. This incredible club does fundraising for local organizations. Episode 15: What if my family doesn't want to go vegan?
Hello friends! It's just me this week, no guest! In today's episode I talk about how to engage with your immediate family now that you have decided to go vegan. I'll offer some tips, but more than anything, set an example. Don’t force anything, when the people around you see how much your life has changed and the joy the simple decisions in your life brings to your day, they’ll at least ask questions. It’s never about what is “taken away” it’s about what has been added, and it’s so much more of that than you can imagine. Every time you have a conversation you might be planting seeds, you never know, people can surprise us.

In today’s episode, I am joined by Susheila Utterback. Originally from California, Susheila moved to North Carolina in 1999 with a long-term goal to buy a house and adopt dogs. She did just that, she currently lives with 3 dogs - Cinnamon, Whitney, and Digda and 1 cat, Hello Kitty. As you’ll hear, Susheila’s journey to veganism was propelled by North Carolina’s AG-Gag laws, as a human and a business woman, she was appalled by what that meant for the animals and what that meant for businesses to operate in secrecy.

Today I am joined by Dave Baldwin. Dave has been a vegan since 2016, and as you’ll hear, his vegan journey was influenced by living with a Vegfest organizer for nearly six years.
