KMKL#4 - How Epigenetics are shaping our lives w/ Nessa Carey
Nessa is the author of Hacking the Code of Life, Epigenetics Revolution, and Junk DNA. We cover all 3 of her books in this fun and lengthy chat is equal parts focused and tangential. Nessa has a PHd in virology, did her post-doctorate in Human Genetics and has also lectured on Molecular Biology. In this conversation, Nessa is kind enough to walk me through exactly what epigenetics is, what it isn't, and how it impacts all of our lives. From how epigenetics start in the womb and how our physical and emotional environment can also affect our epigenetics throughout our lifetime. Nessa and I had a wonderful time recording this and I hope you enjoy it too! Thanks for listening! Please rate and subscribe! See you next time!

KMKL#2: Seducing & Killing Nazis w/ author Sophie Poldermans
Dutch author Sophie Poldermans wrote one of my favourite books in the last few years entitled, "Seducing & Killing Nazis" the very true stories and first accounts from dutch teenage heroines in WW2. https://www.amazon.com/Seducing-Killing-Nazis-Resistance-Heroines-ebook/dp/B07TMRTVBD/ Freddie and Truus Oversteegen were 14 & 16 when they joined the dutch resistance in the face of Nazi occupation. Along with a slightly older girl Hannie Schaft, these 3 girls carried out an undisclosed number of "liquidations" of Nazi soldiers and officers. Freddie and Truus sometimes ambushed Nazi officers from their bicycles or would lure them out into the woods where they carry out their mission of killing Nazis or dutch traitors. Sophie Poldermans is a renowned speaker and founder of sophieswomenofwar.com where she consults for corporations and foundations. I really enjoyed our chat and I hope you do too!
