Hollywood promoter & filmmaker to generating $100M in tarp sales w/ Michael Stein (ep#17)

Los Angeles & Hollywood seem like a place fueled by ambitious dreamers & people with ADHD. The Venn Diagram is surely a complete circle. Opportunity and tragedy on every corner. One of Hollywood's survivors and thrivers is Michael Stein. Michael and I had a fun chat about the mania and confusion that was inherent in our 20s, having all the ambition with zero direction. Michael tells stories like: - working as an extra with Brad Pitt - being in the original short film that became Boogie Nights - promoting nightclubs in Hollywood in the 80s & 90s - missing opportunities for mentorship due to fear - how starting self-development in any way is so crucial during your 20s - driving from Los Angeles to NY in 72hrs to bootstrap the start of his lifelong business Michael is an entrepreneur, actor, writer, director, producer, and stand-up comic who has acted and worked with multiple Academy Award-winning actors & filmmakers. Michael is also the Host of the Long Shot Leaders Podcast, which tells the story of underdogs who have found success; and finally, Michael is the Founder/CEO of Abadak Tarps, which has done over $100M in sales. ------------------------ KNOW MORE KNOW LESS PODCAST: For other platforms: Listen here: Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/know-more-know-less/id1652659219 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2fxCXp5AlfajmcTgvSWSGl?si=87be920940534299 For full episodes and clips: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN4wkMATGEXMTU4Xrw-YZTA

A Soccer Mom's Memoir of Lies, Loss & Lap Dances w/ Marci Warhaft (ep#16)

In my travels and friendly encounters through the years, I've always enjoyed meeting someone who has lived a life so far removed from mine that it seems like a movie. Enter Marci Warhaft. Marci is the author of The Good Stripper: A Soccer Mom's Memoir of Lies, Loss and Lap Dances. I listened to Marci's book on Audible before our chat and it was brash, honest, crass, and heartwrenching. I applaud Marci for taking her grief and shame out of the darkness and putting it into the world. Marci is also a Body image expert and a resiliency coach and we discuss how she helps people overcome similar mental health challenges she's also faced. Overpopulation and planetary limits w/ Nandita Bajaj & Alan Ware (ep #15)

This was one of my favourite conversations yet. No matter how many things I learn about climate change and the impact humanity is having on our ecosystem, there's always a 10-tonne elephant in the room that is never mentioned: Overpopulation! Thankfully Nandita Bajaj & Alan Ware from Population Balance are here to upgrade my knowledge... and scare the sh*t out of me (within the first 15min!) In this episode we discuss: - why nobody is discussing overpopulation? - what evidence exists that we are exceeding our ecological boundaries? - what role does human supremacy play in how we treat the planet? - what is pronatalism? how does it affect our population? - can technology help us correct course? Nandita is the Executive Director of Population Balance, where she also co-hosts The Overpopulation Podcast. She is faculty at the Institute for Humane Education at Antioch University and teaches two graduate courses - Human Rights as well as Pronatalism, Overpopulation, and the Planet, a first-of-its-kind course that she designed. Alan has worked part-time with Population Balance since 2008 as a researcher, writer, and speaker. He also co-hosts The Overpopulation Podcast. Travel, building community, and the entrepreneurial journey w/ Chris Reynolds (EP#14)

The desire for perpetual travel runs through many of us but few have the courage to build a life around it, and significantly fewer so when Chris left the US more than a decade ago. Chris Reynolds has spent the last 10+ years of his life starting different businesses to facilitate his passion for travel, meeting new people, and exploring life outside his home country. He is what I would call a Super Connector with his inherent ability to generate trust in the community wherever he goes. His current projects include the M3 Entrepreneur Community & The Business Method Podcast, which has over 500 episodes with high-performance business owners. Chris and I had a fun chat about our respective journeys through travel and business creation (and destruction!) and how we both ended up in the same European city. ----------------------- KNOW MORE KNOW LESS PODCAST: Listen here: Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/know-more-know-less/id1652659219 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2fxCXp5AlfajmcTgvSWSGl?si=87be920940534299 For full episodes and clips: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN4wkMATGEXMTU4Xrw-YZTA

Hacking Evolution - Ditch Anxiety & Get Happy - w/ Dr. Brad Kelln (EP#12)

Over the last few years we've layered a pandemic on top of the proliferation of social media and "always-on" hustle culture. The result is that every human has become a little more aware of their own anxiety and the thoughts ceaselessly bouncing around their heads. Dr. Brad Kelln and I discuss the theme of his book HACKING EVOLUTION: DITCH ANXIETY, GET HAPPY FOREVER including the concepts of clock time vs. psychological time and how to practice and develop, Quiet Mind. If I had to sum up Brad's message it comes down to thinking less, and being more. A simple yet actionable message to remind all of us that we do NOT have to think all the time. Dr. Brad Kelln is clinical & forensic psychologist, has worked in the area of sexual offenders for over 20 years. He works full-time at Atlantic Canada's largest forensic psychiatric facility, consults for the RCMP and maintains a busy private practice. ---------------------- For other platforms: Listen here: Apple: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/know-more-know-less/id1652659219 Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/2fxCXp5AlfajmcTgvSWSGl?si=87be920940534299 For full episodes and clips: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN4wkMATGEXMTU4Xrw-YZTA

Gay Pastor shares his views on Christianity with an Atheist! - w/ Mike Maeshiro (EP#11)

It's not every day that a Christian Pastor chats publicly with an Atheist for an hour but that's what this is. Pastor Mike shares his experience growing up within the Baptist church and learning, as a child, that he was gay. Mike explains what that experience meant to him at the time and how he was treated within his local and academic community. We also spend some time near the end of the interview ranting about the church which is always great fun for me. I hope to have Mike back for a part 2 in the future as I really enjoyed getting to know him and hearing his perspective on life and god. ---------------------- Mike Maeshiro is the founder and CEO of Numa, a spiritual intelligence organization that equips people with theology, spirituality, and faith. Mike is a Gay Christian pastor an advocate for the LGBTQ+ community, and a queer theology enthusiast. He travels the world teaching spiritual intelligence, supernatural discernment, queer theology, emotional health, and redemptive deconstruction. KMKL#9 - Rethinking a broken US food system w/ Jacqueline Gottuso

Jacqueline Gottuso is the strategic lead at ReThink Food, a New York based NGO that bridges the gap between good food that goes to waste and the demand for meals in the society around us. She is passionate about creating lasting food systems that better connect foodservice partners with community-based organizations in need. Jacqueline and I also discuss her covid-era work as the founder of Feed The Front Line, a non-profit that supported restaurants and donated meals to frontline workers and vulnerable populations. FTFL expanded quickly to 7 cities raising over $1,000,000 and delivering almost 100,000 meals! Jacqueline's path after leaving the management consulting world is inspiring and I'm grateful to have had the chance to hear her story. May this be a lesson for all management consultants to leave their jobs immediately. ;) You can learn more about Jacqueline's amazing work here: www.rethinkfood.org Watch us here on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCN4wkMATGEXMTU4Xrw-YZTA

KMKL#8- The Woman Who Does Whatever She Wants - w/ Laura Gale

I call Laura the Woman Who Does Whatever She Wants, because she has been a business owner, ghost writer, author, editor, writer's retreat host, podcaster and fully recovered nomad. Laura left Australia in her early 20s to explore what more life had to offer and figured the rest out along the way. In this chat, we discuss how her first attempt as a post-9to5er was a failure and she had to pivot (aka: scramble) to find a way to finally make some corporate-free dollars as a freelancer. She's been leveling-up ever since. Laura is currently a full-time ghost writer helping business owners turn their experience & knowledge into non-fiction magic to help share their stories and wisdom with those who can benefit.
