Episode 123 AJ of Preserving Hardcore and FaceWreck
Episode 123 AJ of Preserving Hardcore and FaceWreck
AJ has been a pivotal part of the Pittsburgh Area Hardcore scene for a long time before he was ever given credit for it. Continuing from the Ty Dawson episode last week, we learn even more about the western PAHC scene.
Through the trials and tribulations, AJ has come to be at the center of all the best hardcore punk activity in his home area. Taking his distro to a brick and mortar record store, then renovating a church just outside Pittsburgh, PA to be a Record Store and Venue that has 2 separate rooms under the name Preserving Hardcore, he has come to be the King who built his own castle.
His story is awesome and the fact that he still has time to perform with Facewreck just continues to show his dedication to the scene.

From the early days of finding hardcore punk to eventually mentoring and helping Code Orange when they were kids find their place in the scene. With his band Pain Clinic he finally gets a chance to get on the stage and show the world his talents.
He's a natural talker and has great charisma especially for a new singer in a new band. Pain Clinic plays This Is Hardcore Fest Sunday August 6th.

Episode 121 Rob "Beto" Rosario of Dmize, 25 Ta Life, Madball and more
Episode 121 Rob "Beto" Rosario of Dmize, 25 Ta Life, Madball and more
Beto's story is one for the history books in many ways. We walk with him as he puts the pieces together of how the small area of Queens would eventually produce so many important NYHC bands in just a small friend group, Dmize, Madball, Merauder just to name a few. He would over time end up playing in all 3 as well as playing/touring with 25 Ta Life when the band was at their peak.
His story goes beyond his bands, to his family and the next generation of hardcore with his son Caiden Rosario of Reaching Out.
Being friends with Beto and talking at shows for hours, I was hoping to finally get some of our conversations onto the podcast and I feel like this goes deep into his life from the very beginning, through his time spent building a name in the business world as well as raising a family with his wife Casey.

Episode 120 Andrew Kline of Strife and WAR Records
Andrew Kline on his own with all the Socal and Strife stories would be a great guest, but there is something awesome about a guy who has a dayjob and runs a completely DIY Hardcore Label showcasing some amazing new bands that are absolutely pure energetic hardcore.
His story and how he got to where he is now was awesome to hear and I hope you all enjoy it.

Episode 117 Adam Easterling of Orthodox
Episode 117 Adam Easterling of Orthodox
Hailing from the city of Music, Nashville Tennessee, Adam grew up surrounded by music and the music industry. We talk about being raised around christian music and how he would find hardcore and metal from that scene. He has been booking shows in Nashville and touring for over 10 years now. Orthodox is playing TIHC Friday August 4th. Orthodox plays very metallic straight edge hardcore that retains all the power of the greats like Earth Crisis while edging further down the path blurring the lines between the metal and hardcore scene.
If you're unfamiliar with the band, listen and check them out, Adam was easy to talk to and his passion for this scene is felt from the outset.

Episode 116 Andrew King. Author of Failure Rules.
Episode 116 Andrew King. Author of Failure Rules.
Andrew "Thorp" King came from the Philly area into hardcore and rose from a pit warrior to releasing some great releases at the end of the 90s and some of the greats of the 2000s with his Thorp Records and later Sailor Grave Records.
Through his years of hard work, he has had some incredible ups and downs and would eventually pull his tale and lessons learned into a fantastic book "Failure Rules".
This is a must listen not only for the fans of his labels etc but also those trotting down the same entrepreneurial roads that he had travelled.
There is alot to be gleaned from the book and his story and our conversation barely broke the surface on all the things the book touches on.

Episode 115 Karl Buechner of Earth Crisis
Episode 115 Karl Buechner of Earth Crisis
A guest of this magnitude doesn't need a bio entry from the likes of me. Earth Crisis over the last 30 plus years has shifted and shaped hardcore with a metallic influence and a clear focus on animal rights, veganism and an earth conscience mindset.
With new music from his other project Freya, and Earth Crisis playing TIHC 2023 friday, it was good timing to finally get Karl on the show.
