Interview with LiLi Roquelin

We had the pleasure of interviewing LiLi Roqelin over Zoom video! The song "Childfree" by NYC-based award-winning singer-songwriter-producer LiLi Roquelin is the first-ever original song written about the childfree choice and lifestyle. It features 55 happy childfree women from all over the world on the cover art and it has been labeled by such women as "their Anthem". Since its release, she has received many positive and supportive reactions (with The New York Times feature and podcast interviews), some neutral, and some negative reactions from men, parents, and mothers. She is proud to be a voice for all women that chose this lifestyle. Her goal is to help and inspire young women to become aware they have a choice and to speak up about their decision. LiLi is at the core of the Childfree Movement and she is on a mission to normalize a woman's choice to live a happy, childfree life. "I want women that get criticized or judged about their lifestyle to have the song as support and to remind them they are not alone!". "Young girls can listen to the lyrics and feel empowered and reassured, embrace their preference and turn it into the firm decision that they need to take." We want to hear from you! Interview with Haiden

We had the pleasure of interviewing Haiden over Zoom video! Emerging artist, Haiden released, "Can't Hurt Me", with production from frequent collaborator Barry Fowler. The track will be included on his upcoming debut EP releasing early 2022. Following his 90s and 00s-inspired hits "Harmony", "Welcome Home", and the boy band era "Okay Ok K", Haiden took his Shawn Mendes vibes, and an unfinished song about his ex's red flags "Can't Hurt Me" to TikTok and the response is unbelievable. The song went mega-viral. Complimented by his smooth vocals & guitar playing, this song in its rawest form garnered 4M views, gaining him more than 35K TikTok followers & 10K Spotify pre-saves. Thousands of restless fans have pushed him to meet the demand. "When I posted this song on TikTok, it wasn't even fully written, let alone recorded or produced. So for the past week, we've been working relentlessly to finish it and make it as impactful as I know it can be. I felt a specific type of pressure because "Can't Hurt Me" went viral in its rawest form; just me playing it on an acoustic guitar. This made producing it especially challenging because we didn't want to take away from what made the song and the story special in the first place. I'm happy to say though, that its integrity has not only remained intact but has been amplified by the production. It is truly amazing." - Haiden The introductory chords create anxiety as if there's impending bad news… but then it becomes so energized by the track's beat-propelled vocals. Haiden literally rocks it and kicks you square in the broken heart with this song's powerhouse lyrics and unabated emotion. Fans are already dueting, covering, and sharing the song. Listeners are going to be scream-singing this song from their cars. We want to hear from you! Interview with Mason Jennings

We had the pleasure of interviewing Mason Jennings over Zoom video! Minneapolis songwriter Mason Jennings has shared his new LP "Real Heart". Jennings calls it "the unabashed folk record that I have been wanting to make for years," pointing to the project's warm mix of acoustic guitar, unforced vocals, and autobiographical lyrics. At the same time, Real Heart also reaches beyond the genre's boundaries, making room for nuanced layers of horns, strings, and piano. The result is a record that both reclaims and redefines Mason Jennings' role as a leading light in the folk community, with production from Malfunkshun's Regan Hagar and Pearl Jam's Stone Gossard. Jennings and Gossard are ongoing collaborators in the supergroup Painted Shield, who released their 2021 debut album on Loosegroove, the influential indie label that Gossard founded back in 1994 issued records from acts such as Critters Buggin, Malfunkshun, Weapon of Choice and Devilhead, and was the launching point for Queens of the Stone Age's debut album in 1998. Real Heart is the sound of a musician easing back into his own skin and marking art not only on his own terms, but on his own turf, too. Jennings began recording the album at his lake house outside St. Paul, Minnesota, strumming each song while staring at the water outside. We want to hear from you!
