229. Kelsey Plum, WNBA Player

I walked away from my conversation with Kelsey Plum feeling really thankful. That she's here to tell her story, firstly, and also that in doing so she is helping so many people — myself included. For episode 229, Kelsey shares what it was like for her to grow up in a house of athletes, and the way family competition impacted her mindset both on and off the court. She talks to me about what it was like to be one of the best college athletes of her time, and unfortunately the negative impact that had on her. And then, we really get into it, as Kelsey talks about navigating a period of time where she had suicidal thoughts, not wanting to live anymore, going as far as sitting on top of a tall parking structure with her feet dangling over the edge — wondering how her family would feel if she decided to take the leap.  We also talk about the hard emotions that came with draft day, coming out of the fog of depression, and what her best advice is for anyone who can relate with her story. Plus: Her excitement for life these days playing with the Aces, her morning ritual that helps her see the good in each day, and her exciting new partnerships with GSTQ and Under Armour. #HURDLEMOMENT: Robin Arzon On How to Navigate Race Day

This week's #hurdlemoment is a must-hear, regardless of if you're running a race this fall or not. Whether it’s your first or your hundredth, marathon race day gives runners the same nervous butterflies every single time. For today’s episode, I'm bringing back a conversation I had in 2019 with Robin Arzon, 26-time marathoner, Vice President of Fitness Programming and instructor at Peloton, and author of the New York Times bestseller Shut Up and Run. This RRCA-certified running coach and marathon veteran has the tips you need to successfully conquer 26.2 miles, then bring that same swagger along with you in everyday life. 226. Rad Lopez, Peloton Instructor

From a young age, Rad Lopez was taught that with hard work and dedication — anything is possible. For episode 226, he's talking through what that’s looked like in practice — from his early years growing up in the Bronx through these days sweating regularly on-camera as a @onepeloton favorite. Rad gets vulnerable, opening up about losing both his father and his stepfather, and what it felt like coming of age with a single mom that was constantly working to put food on the table.  He also chats about working maitenance at a gym — where he was first inspired to get his personal training certification — and shares how he first got into one of his favorite activities, boxing. Plus: Feedback from his first job teaching group fitness, how he feels about teaching classes in Spanish, the special moment from his Cuba trip earlier this year, and what he really sees when he looks in the mirror.
