Ep 291: Why Your Brain Stops You From Taking Action And Creating A Better Life

Start Your Transformation NowIn this enlightening episode, I discuss why our brains often sabotage us from taking action and making positive changes in our lives. We'll explore insights into the psychological barriers that hold us back and practical tips for breaking through these mental blocks. While we may consciously want to improve our lives, our subconscious minds and ingrained habits resist change. This is due to the older, survival-based part of our brains. To create change, we must operate in alignment with how our brains are wired – by transforming our subconscious beliefs.Progress requires action. But action often involves discomfort, fear, and anxiety. We must push through these feelings to get unstuck. Staying in our comfort zone leads to stagnation.Decide on a new path, and don't worry about if the actions are messy. Perfect action often never happens. We must trust ourselves to follow through, not just trust external advice. Focus on trusting your ability to course correct, not on the outcome. Do your due diligence, then take action. You can't over-learn everything. What is holding you back from creating the life you want? Is it truly a lack of time, money, or skill – or is it the protective mechanisms of your own mind?Transformational Takeaway: Ponder the possibility that your subconscious beliefs and ingrained habits are resisting the very change you consciously seek – then ask yourself, what small action can you take today to push past your comfort zone and into progress?Mentioned Resources:Jim Fortin Podcastjimfortin.com/bedohaveLet's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 289: INTERVIEW: The Power of Self-Love - Reinventing Your Life

Start Your Transformation NowHave you ever felt the sting of relationships unraveling? I know that pain is all too familiar for so many. My heartfelt talk with a former student gets real about overcoming struggles in marriage and life. With support from people who understand, you can transform and write a new story, as she did. Her experience emphasizes the power of self-love and surrendering control illusions. In this powerful and revealing conversation, I speak with former student Felicia Fishback about overcoming major struggles in her relationships, and marriage, as well as finding her true self and purpose. She shares vulnerably about the bombshell moment when her husband said he was no longer attracted to her, the abandonment wounds from her childhood, and her journey to rebuild her confidence and self-love.Felicia was introduced to Jim's podcast by fellow student Justina, who said it would be transformational. She had no money at the time, but saw the immense value and joined the 12-pay program. She knew it would change her financial situation. She had tried many personal development methods before, but they never changed her underlying context – her unconscious core identity. After 4 years of marriage, Felicia's husband suddenly said he was no longer attracted to her. This crushed her self-esteem. Abandonment wounds from childhood were triggered. She tried to salvage the marriage but it was over. The experience forced her to truly surrender control and work through deep pain.Leaning on her TCP community, Felicia worked on rebuilding her self-love and confidence. She discovered a new enjoyment of alone time and her independence; becoming a hypnotherapist and coach aligned her with her purpose of guiding others through transformation. She credits the TCP work for saving her life and changing her family.Transformational Takeaway: Though life may knock us down, we each hold the power to rise up, learn, and grow. With self-love as our foundation and community as our strength, we can turn hardship into wisdom and write new chapters filled with confidence and purpose. The darkness of betrayal cannot overcome the light within us all.Mentioned Resources:instagram.com/healwithfeliciajimfortin.com/bedohaveLet's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 288: INTERVIEW: Transforming Your Identity To Create The Life That You Desire.

Start Your Transformation NowFeeling weighed down by expectations and identities that don't fit? If so, listen closely because this is the podcast for you! Even if you don’t know where to start, this episode should get you going on the right track. In this podcast (EP288), I interview a former TCP (Transformational Coaching Program) student, Jason, about the evolution of self and finding peace by letting go of limiting identities. He shares his personal journey of transformation, including moving from LA to Sedona and going through two divorces. Along the way, he learned to separate his sense of self from his roles and circumstantial outcomes. He reveals that though his work provided well financially, he felt a lot of pressure and stress due to having his identity tied to being a good provider. He stayed in an unfulfilling marriage longer than he wanted because he feared the financial loss of divorce. Can you relate to feeling trapped by the identities and expectations imposed on you? Unfortunately, a lot of us do. So, what did Jason decide to change?A pivotal change happened for Jason when he began focusing on “ways of being” rather than chasing circumstantial outcomes. He describes the transformative power of living from a place of inner peace, love, and gratitude rather than seeking validation through money, relationships and possessions. He emphasizes being in the present moment rather than needing a particular future.True spirituality cultivates a sense of connection to all, Jason shares. He gives examples like feeling gratitude washing dishes or seeing mosquitoes as bringing medicine rather than annoyance. By honoring all of life rather than just your own desires, you experience the abundance of needing nothing. Transformational Takeaway: Real transformation comes from shifting your inner identity and way of being rather than chasing circumstantial changes. When you live with authentic connection, you discover that needing nothing is having everything.Mentioned Resources:jasonmefford.comjimfortin.com/tcpLet's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 284: INTERVIEW: Having A Vision and Overcoming Adversity in Business and Life

Start Your Transformation NowIn this inspiring episode, I chat with Adrian Massey, an entrepreneur from England who was previously a student in my Transformation Coaching Program (TCP). We discussed his journey as an entrepreneur, including the challenges he faced starting his business, how he overcame obstacles, and where he is today. He first connected with me because he wanted to start a food business but was struggling to gain traction. Adrian was driven by his purpose – to create a nutritious and sustainable product that makes life easier for busy people and families, but was instantly met with adversity. Shortly after starting TCP, he partnered with a large company to produce and distribute his product. However, issues arose with manufacturing and quality control, forcing him to end the partnership and shut down operations after investing significant time and money. This left him feeling desperate and with few resources to continue pursuing his business. However, he credits the mindset tools he learned in TCP for giving him the strength to persevere. He realized he needed to trust himself more and operate from a place of possibility rather than scarcity. He also realized that his desperation was hindering him, and he needed commitment, not desperation, to succeed.Adrian decided to pivot his business model and raised investment capital to restart production on his own. He overcame additional adversities like COVID-19 and supply chain challenges but successfully launched his product in UK (United Kingdom) supermarkets. His drinks are now outselling major brands.Throughout his journey, Adrian stayed motivated by his purpose. Having said that, I emphasized in the episode that his focus on creating value for others rather than getting rich is why he persisted. He agreed, noting that money alone doesn't drive great entrepreneurs.Transformational Takeaway: What limiting beliefs might be holding you back from fully pursuing your biggest vision? How can you flip the script and change those ‘limiting’ beliefs into ‘productive’ and ’empowering’ beliefs?Mentioned Resources:earthddrinks.comjimfortin.com/tcpLet's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family. Ep 282: Your Choice: Happiness Or Attachment?

Start Your Transformation NowDo you want to be happy in life, or would you rather stay attached to all the things that bring unhappiness into your life? In this week's episode, I dive into the concept of attachment, why we attach to others and things, and how to start leaving the attachments behind you. We must first recognize and accept that our greatest source of unhappiness is attachment. When we get attached to ideas, outcomes, possessions, etc., we suffer when those things don't happen the way we expect. We let external things like money, health, and relationships drive our internal happiness. But true happiness comes from within. We can be happy or unhappy based on our thinking. Happiness is an inside job.To let go of attachment, we must first develop awareness. Awareness comes through observing ourselves and allowing what is. You must observe how you feel when you don't get the outcomes you want. Realize these feelings are just illusions created by your mind. Attachment stems from your lack of awareness, and you must observe yourself to understand why you do what you do.I talk about far more and explain further, but the key to happiness lies in letting go of your attachments to people, places, and things. By developing awareness through observation and allowing what is, you can release your grip on the outcomes and ideals you cling to…and this is the start of releasing the attachments that keep you trapped and unhappy. Transformational Takeaway: What you don’t have in life is a reflection of what you are attached to. You are attached to your lack of trust in yourself. If you did trust in yourself, what would you attempt to do in your life?Let's Connect: Instagram Facebook YouTube LinkedIn LIKED THE EPISODE?If you're the kind of person who likes to help others, then share this with your friends and family.
