This week on Dyl & Friends, I’m joined by the Skip, Marc Murphy. Murph is a 300-gamer (exactly) champion for the Carlton football club and one of those special loyal players that stood by his club through some of the darkest days in its history. Not only that but he stood in front of his club. When I reflect on Murph, I think of an incredible leader and someone I always looked up to and respected. In this episode, we discuss a number of chapters of Murph’s life that include his choice to deny his father-son option at the Brisbane Lions, his fascinating visualisation in preparation of games and some of his thoughts on polarising decisions made during his tenure at Princes Park. This week on Dyl & Friends, I'm joined by superstar, and newly established premiership player, Clayton Oliver. Oliver joined the AFL and the Melbourne Football Club in 2015 with the 4th overall pick in the draft after bolting up the order late in the drafting year. A lot of punters would now argue he is the top performing player from that 2015 draft crop alongside the likes of Jacob Weitering, Darcy Parish, Harry McKay and Cal Mills which speaks volumes to the output and influence he's had in the past 5 years. It's been a massive season for Clayton as he took out the AFLCA MVP award but more than that, it's been a massive journey from his entrance into the league all those years ago. He, alongside Petracca and Brayshaw, personify the rise of the success-starved Melbourne Football Club as they rose up the ladder with Simon Goodwin at the helm and pulled off a stunning flag in 2021. This week on Dyl & Friends I'm joined by hospitality mogul, Julien Moussi. Moussi is an ex-footballer that turned a humble coffee truck into a 30 million dollar cafe empire. Moussi went from playing footy at Box Hill to owning and directing 40+ venues that range from cafe's to major pubs like the recently opened Hotel Collingwood in Melbourne and his coffee roasting business, Inglewood. This week on Dyl & Friends, I’m pleased to bring you all a chat with an awesome friend and champion footballer, Darcy Vescio. Darc is coming off a stellar season with the Blues picking up the league goal-kicking award as well as a best and fairest. She was truly special this year and set new benchmarks for the ever-growing AFLW competition. If you’ve been living under a rock and aren’t too familiar with Darcy’s career, she played a marquee role in launching the AFLW competition, quite literally, with a best-on-ground display in the first ever official AFLW game against Collingwood. Since the inception of AFLW, Darcy has been a key figure on and off the field bringing the game forward. Most notably, she was central in fighting for improved conditions and salaries for the Women’s competition. I learnt a lot sitting down with Darc and hearing about the nuts and bolts of AFLW as well as her own journey into the sport. Can’t thank Darc enough for coming in and catching up!
