A big first day at CREtech NYC as thousands from around the globe made their way to Pier 36 on the Hudson River to talk tech, climate, investment and the big issues facing the industry. In this special podcast, recorded live from the show, EG editor Samantha McClary shares insights from CREtech chief executive Michael Beckerman as he kicks off proceedings and some big thoughts on the market and the importance of diversity from Hines’ Laura Hines-Pierce and BentallGreenOak’s Sonny Kalsi. Bristol’s electorate has spoken: the role of city mayor will be dropped when Marvin Rees finishes his term of office in 2024. It will be replaced by a committee system in which decisions will be ratified by groups of councillors rather than by a cabinet appointed by the mayor. Supporters of the change hope it will allow for a more democratic form of government.   In this 55-minute podcast, EG’s guests discuss how Bristol reached this point and what it means for development in the city.
