clubbing: are we really having fun?

when we sat down to record this episode... I (cara) had no idea what we were going to talk about....Leo had a few things on her mind that she really wanted to unload and so.... join us for a truly authentic chit chatty style episode, where leo shares a recent 'going out' experience. leo discusses how the experience made her feel, and the questions that arose regarding clubbing, going out culture, fomo & the pressure to say yes even when you don't want to! We discuss why we think the enjoyment behind clubbing can change as you get older, how sometimes we only go clubbing because of the fear of missing out on the memorable experiences with friends, how sometimes we may not feel 'extroverted' enough to be comfortable in those situations, and most importantly why saying no to going out can feel so difficult. so... please pour yourself a matcha and enjoy listening! 🍵 Follow us on instagram (@the.matcha.diaries) to stay up to date on our lives, contribute to future episodes, and share any of your thoughts! how i've failed myself

this was a difficult one … inspired by Elizabeth Day’s podcast “how to fail”, this is part 2 (part1: leo, part 2: cara) of our episode series were we asked ourselves the tough question “what are your biggest failures” ? A question that might seem simple to the eye… but it pushes someone to think about their past, their experiences, things they regret.. but most importantly the lessons that they have learnt, and how those failures are vital to their current successes.  the two failures we discuss in part 2 are:  saying no to a lot of things growing up (because I cared a lot of what people thought of me) + ultimately missing out on a lot of experiences closing my self off in relationships + friendships a note from cara: recording this episode in itself taught me that it is okay to take space, and made me realise the importance of believing in your worth and the value you bring to those around you. If you ever don't feel like you're good enough, that your voice and story isn't worth sharing, then I want you to know that you're not alone BUT we have to start believing in the reasons we are put on this earth and all the greatness that comes with our presence.   p.s if you want to join our book club and come meet us in person... you can join us here! logo credit: french75studios

what comes after the honeymoon phase?

the honeymoon phase is over... now what?  In this weeks episode, Ed (AKA Cara's boyfriend) and I sit down with each other and answer your questions on surviving a long term relationship in your twenties. We share the story of how we met, how we support each other as a couple, our love languages, our greatest struggles and most importantly we dive into what intimacy & maintaining a spark in your relationship actually looks post the honeymoon phase.  Here's a sneak peek into the questions we answered:  - Is it difficult learning to love a new version of them again after they change with time?  - What to do about that feeling that you didn't get to try everything but you've found 'the one' now?  - Is it normal to have periods of doubts / not know if this is the person you want to spend your life with? - Have you ever asked yourself if there is maybe somebody better for you?  - How to maintain the magic and spark?  DM us on @the.matcha.diaries as we'd love to hear your views on maintaining a healthy long term relationship. Please pour yourself a matcha and enjoy listening!  p.s please excuse my voice in this as I am still recovering for a cold <3  🍵  Also, if you want to join our book club and come meet us in person... you can join us here! do our failures define us?

we dug DEEP in this episode … inspired by Elizabeth Day’s podcast “how to fail”, this is part 1 (part1: leo, part 2: cara) of our episode series were we asked ourselves the tough question “what are your biggest failures” ? A question that might seem simple to the eye… but it pushes someone to think about their past, their experiences, things they regret.. but most importantly the lessons that they have learnt, and how those failures are vital to their current successes. the two failures we discuss in part 1 are: 1. seeking validation to the expense of other people 2. not treating my body and mind as they deserve a note from leo: this was by far the most difficult episode to record and upload, but i’m also proud of our community that i feel safe enough to be this vulnerable on here. my hope is that even one of you listening will be able to relate and feel slightly less alone, because i know that would have helped me a lot when i was going through these. sending lots of love. p.s if you want to join our book club and come meet us in person... you can join us here! the importance of finding beauty in the little moments

How are you... really?  A week ago we did a little check in and asked how you are all feeling. Unfortunately a big chunk of the responses we got back had to do with not feeling too well, lacking motivation, being exhausted, overwhelmed, drained, and feeling sad.  In this episode we wanted to sit down and respond to you guys. We discuss the importance of finding beauty and happiness in the little things, and share the things we actively do to make our days better. Leo discusses how the practice of 'romanticising your life' has always been a big part of how she lives and through doing so, I ( Cara ) learnt a lot from this episode.. especially when it comes to the power of the mind and our perspective on our day to day lives. We share simple ways to make the typical 'mundane' day.. a lot more beautiful.  Just know that if you ever need a shoulder to cry on or someone to talk to we're here! Please don't hesitate to DM us on @the.matcha.diaries. Please pour yourself a matcha and enjoy listening! 🍵  Also, if you want to join our book club and come meet us in person... you can join us here! p.s the first 15 minutes is a bit of a chaotic catch up so feel free to skip to get to the juice of the episode!
