Murphy's Law Drives Negativity
- Humans tend to assume the worst possible extreme in negative situations by default.
- This mindset often stems from internalizing Murphy's Law: if something can go wrong, it will.
Choose the Opposite Outcome
- Counter negative assumptions by consciously choosing the logical opposite positive outcome.
- Remind yourself "If it can go wrong, it will" has an equally valid opposite: "If it can go right, it will."
Life's Opposite Extremes Are Possible
- Life can quickly shift from very good to very bad, but it can also shift the other way.
- Recognizing that change from zero to 100 is possible opens the door to hope and action.
