Using red light in the evening before sleep can help reduce cortisol levels, aiding in relaxation. It is a simple and pleasant way to mellow out before bedtime, with effects noticeable in about half an hour. Red light is an effective alternative to other types of lighting to prepare the body for sleep and can create a calming atmosphere for activities before bedtime.
Recently I had the pleasure of hosting a live event in Sydney, Australia. This event was part of a lecture series called The Brain Body Contract. My favorite part of the evening was the question and answer period, where I had the opportunity to answer questions from the attendees of each event. Included here is the Q&A from our event at the Sydney Opera House.
