A successful therapy outcome is dependent on the client's active engagement, willingness to dig deep, share openly, think critically, and reflect on their life between sessions. Therapists cannot magically extract insights and clients must actively participate and carry their reflections into their daily life to maximize therapy benefits. The best therapists guide clients to reach a point where further therapy may no longer be necessary, indicating successful progress.
