Bank's incentive for revenue sharing with merchants
Banks are willing to split their revenue pool with a merchant based on the structural dynamics of the industry. While big banks like Chase and Amex are selective in partnering with merchants due to their dominant market positions, other banks are more open to revenue sharing. The majority of co-brand programs involve banks such as Synchrony Bank, Comenity Bank, or US Bank, which are not technology companies.
