How Cold, Dry Air Affects Our Susceptibility to Infections
Cold, dry air makes us more susceptible to viral and bacterial infections as viruses and bacteria primarily enter through the nose and mouth, making them our main barriers to infections. Constantly fighting off infections, the mucus lining in our nose and mouth traps viruses and bacteria. Spending time in cold, dry environments thins the mucosal lining, making it less robust.
