Parenting and Building Resilience in Children
As parents, it's important to recognize that we don't need to architect our children's happiness. By gradually working ourselves out of a job, we allow our kids to handle challenges independently. Building the circuitry to cope with frustration and setbacks is essential for sustainable happiness. Teaching children to tolerate feelings and helping them understand it's okay to be themselves even when they haven't figured everything out, is vital for confidence. Empathizing with their disappointments, allowing them to experience their emotions, and offering support before suggesting solutions helps in building resilience.
