Modalities for VO2 max training can include various types of exercise equipment such as air bike, regular bike, stationary bike, stair climber, treadmill, and running outside. Intense exercises like burpees and jumping may not be ideal for VO2 max training due to the recommended three to eight minute intervals. The speaker used to do jumping exercises when fit, but now relies on easier options. Their current workout involves alternating three minutes on a rowing machine with three minutes off, or one minute sprinting on an industrial-grade stair climber followed by two minutes of recovery. However, they prefer four minute repeats for their VO2 max workout.
