Sleeping on Left Side to Prevent GERD
Sleeping on your left side can help prevent heartburn and GERD by trapping air in the top part of your stomach and pushing it up on the left diaphragm, reducing the pressure that can push stomach contents out. This position can also help alleviate hiccups as it forces the air out through belching. To sleep on your side, use big pillows - one behind and one in front of you.
