The Benefits of Being in Charge

Last week, I worked with a CEO of a small company at an off-site retreat. With 15 employees, she complained about her employees not working as hard as she does. I asked her who hired them, and she sheepishly admitted that she did. I then inquired about the benefits of being in charge, and she smirked, saying that she's the boss. It became clear that until we're willing to take risks, the system won't change.
