Flexibility and Injury Rate: Finding the Optimal Balance
Flexibility and injury rates follow a U-shaped curve, with both extreme unflexibility and hyperlaxity increasing the risk of injuries. Optimal flexibility and stiffness lead to lower injury rates and better performance. To quantify this, measuring the slopes of eccentric impulse, such as through counter movement jumps, has been found effective.
