As a psychologist, I can't stop my expectations from rising, but I embrace it as motivation. I mentally time travel to a version of myself with more reasonable expectations. If someone had told me years ago I'd publish a book, I would be overjoyed. It makes my younger self proud. Michael Dell's motto is pleased but never satisfied, and I like the tension between these ideas. Being never satisfied pushes you to keep going, just like a champion.
