NOTE

The Benefits of Confluence: Empowering Employees and the Shift to User-Centric Software

At first, we didn't think we would pay for it, but the paid version of the software was much better than the free alternatives we were considering. What's interesting about Atlascan's wholesale model is that they don't have to directly compete with companies like Cisco and Microsoft. A key factor in our decision to use Confluence was that it was self-serve and below the amount requiring extensive authorization. This marked a shift towards employees being empowered to make their own purchasing decisions. Additionally, this era saw the convergence of the buyer and user in enterprise software. It was no longer enough to create software solely for the buyer; it had to be user-friendly. This is an important point worth noting in the era of BYOD (Bring Your Own Device).
