Political power leads to the existence of domination which inevitably leads to a section of society being dominated. The pursuit of state power attracts the most ruthless and power-hungry individuals, resulting in the worst personalities rising to the top in modern politics. Power is not the corrupting agent, but rather attracts those who are already corruptible.
