The Benefits of Cold Showers and Embracing Discomfort

Taking a cold shower helps wake me up and energize me. It's about intentionally embracing discomfort and not overprioritizing comfort as we get older. The concept of hormesis suggests that small amounts of stress are actually good for us. Without stress, our capacity diminishes. So, as long as our nervous system is regulated, it's beneficial to incorporate some form of stress or discomfort in our lives.
