The Hero's Journey: A Temporary Relief Approach
Learn about the drama triangle theory which suggests that most of us learn to do relationships in the role of victimhood. There are three unique flavors of victimhood - pure victim, villain and hero. The victim has a sense of disempowerment and blames external factors while the villain seeks to blame someone. The hero seeks temporary relief but doesn't address the core issue. The hero role is the most challenging because it requires someone to be disempowered. It's essential to take 100% responsibility to avoid becoming trapped in the drama triangle and creating more battles amongst us.
