Setting quotas for regular work and events can be a reasonable way to decline new requests. By explaining that you have already reached your quota for a specific unit of time, such as a semester or quarter, it becomes challenging for others to push back. Future time blocking is also a useful technique where you block out time in your calendar in advance for when new tasks or projects will be completed.
