The softer form of this theory, DEI, emphasizes 'equity' over 'equality,' attributing any inequality to discrimination. It leads to a victim-victimizer narrative, undermines individual responsibility, and challenges the notion of meritocracy, which has historically had positive impacts across various areas of life. This approach of discrimination in the name of correcting discrimination is seen as dangerous and destructive for individuals and societies at large.
