Mitochondria and Neurons as Social Organisms
Mitochondria are seen as social organisms that share information, communicate, and synchronize functions, similar to how social animals interact. Communication is not limited to verbal means but includes nonverbal cues like gestures and tone of voice. Just as individuals communicate through various modes like face-to-face interactions, phone calls, emails, and texts, neurons in the brain also communicate through multiple redundant modes.
