The human mind has a tendency to forget information once a task or loop is completed. This can be seen in the way that servers in a restaurant can accurately remember orders while they are still open, but forget them once the checks are closed. This is similar to how people can cram for exams and remember information closely, but then forget it once the exams are done. The open loop dynamic of the human mind prefers closure, which is why Netflix uses cliffhangers to keep viewers engaged. To hack productivity, one can use the concept of open and closed loops by leaving tasks partially finished, such as leaving a sentence unfinished in writing. This makes it easier to restart the task and activates the open loop system, leading to better focus and consideration of what needs to be done. By making the starting point of a task as easy as possible, it becomes easier to begin and increase productivity.
