Why Sharing Who We Are is Difficult and Overcoming Loneliness
Taking the first step to sharing ourselves with others can be challenging, especially if we've had stressful experiences. Traumas often lead us to push others away to avoid getting hurt again. However, engaging in social creative activities or expressing ourselves can act as a catalyst to overcome this fear. When we do take that step, it can be a joyous and pleasurable experience that increases our dopamine levels. The goal of Project Unlonely and this conversation is to encourage people to take risks, tolerate discomfort, and reap the rewards of connection and storytelling.
