A pro-worker work ethic
The Gray Area with Sean Illing
The revival of conservative work ethic and neoliberalism
The typical business is deeply set in economic theory and constantly seeks productive efficiencies and profit opportunities. This represents a modern version of the 17th century ideology that everyone should always seek more opportunities for profit. Neoliberalism is essentially a revival of the conservative work ethic, with policy rationalizations that redistribute income from workers to property owners and holders of assets. Neoliberalism secures an increasing share of income for the holders of capital assets. The speaker attributes the success of neoliberalism to a series of policy rationalizations that benefitted capital asset holders.
