Childhood Trust
Recognize wounds aren't always from childhood, but childhood breaches of trust profoundly impact us. Obvious betrayals such as infidelity exist, but also unmet parental promises can erode a child's ability to trust. Children see parents as truth; feeling unworthy or unsafe due to parental actions creates a difficult conundrum in trusting others later in life. Parents' actions teach kids whether they can trust others to follow through on what they say.
