The classification of drugs as psychedelic is based on the concept of mind manifesting, coined by LSD researcher Humphrey Osmond. This term encompasses substances such as MDMA, which may not fit the traditional view of psychedelics like LSD and psilocybin. The use of non-ordinary state of consciousness is preferred over altered states of consciousness, and the term 'hallucinogen' is considered pejorative.
Do psychedelics reveal a different objective reality? Neil deGrasse Tyson and Chuck Nice learn about psychedelic drugs, treating PTSD, and other mind-bending research with President of Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies (MAPS) Rick Doblin.
