Unhealthy diet linked to children's tantrums and aggressive behavior
A large study in Norway observed the emotional behavior of 23,000 children over five years. Unhealthy diets with junk and processed foods were associated with higher levels of tantrums and aggression in children, independent of their own diet. Higher intake of junk and processed foods, as well as lower intake of healthful foods, were both individually linked to poor mental health outcomes. This supports previous findings in adults and adolescents, where diet plays a significant role in mental well-being.
