There are three types of perfectionists: socially-prescribed, other-oriented, and self-oriented. Socially-prescribed perfectionists feel immense pressure to be the best and worry about rejection from important people in their lives. Other-oriented perfectionists have high standards for others and can shut people out over minor imperfections. Self-oriented perfectionists are organized, conscientious, and set high standards for themselves. They are generally successful and motivated, associated with positive emotions and achievements.
