US vs. Europe Economic Outlook
The US economy may not be as weak as employment numbers suggest, especially if productivity increases are unrecognized in data. While a rate cut is likely, the US economy isn't fundamentally broken. In contrast, Europe, particularly France, faces significant structural problems with a large deficit and a fragile government struggling with fiscal consolidation. The European situation is generally not favorable; for example, the correlation between interest rates and currency in the UK resembles that of an emerging market, where higher rates indicate risk and lead to a weaker currency.
