The insight is that many times in life, things that sound good in theory may not necessarily work in practice, and vice versa. It is important to actually try things out and experience them in practice, rather than just speculating or thinking about them in theory. This applies to both smaller choices, such as picking an insurance plan, as well as major life decisions like moving to a new country. Only by trying things in practice can we truly understand what they are like, with the understanding that these are still just attempts and not final decisions.
