Real Novelty in Creation
Creation involves real novelty where there is a fundamental difference between the starting point (S1) and the outcome (S2). Merely improving existing skills is not creation but quantitative development. Self-creation is paradoxical because it requires a deep difference between S1 and S2, making it self-contradictory. Strassen argues that self-creation is not possible, drawing parallels to Fodor's idea that one cannot create a stronger logic from a weaker logic.
