The Democracies of Taiwan

Taiwan has demonstrated that ethnically Chinese people excel at democracy, even surpassing the United States in democratic measures. Taiwan is the most democratic country in Asia, with a high proportion of female representation in parliament and leadership positions. The success of Taiwan's liberal democracy is a model that challenges and possibly threatens Xi Jinping, causing him to focus on suppressing Taiwan's democracy.
