I believe it's unrealistic to expect students to self-regulate their device usage in class. Even adults struggle with it. Instead, I suggest setting a school-wide policy to avoid unfairness and the fear of missing out. It's clear that excessive device use is negatively impacting learning and mental health.

In Episode 16, Anna Stokke talks to cognitive psychologist and bestselling author Dr. Daniel Willingham. Dan shares some of the strategies in his latest book, "Outsmart Your Brain: Why Learning Is Hard and How You Can Make It Easy."
