E76: GTM Efficiency and the need for a “Chief Go-To-Market Officer”

NOTE

Lean Teams Drive Faster Decisions

In early-stage companies, a Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) may be sufficient to oversee operations, but as companies grow beyond $100 million in revenue, the presence of a dedicated president of field operations becomes crucial for managing various departments. However, larger executive teams do not necessarily enhance company efficiency or decision-making. In fact, leaner organizations tend to make faster decisions and foster easier alignment among team members. Therefore, the size of an executive team should be carefully considered, as an 18-person team may not perform as effectively as a streamlined six-person team when pursuing market opportunities.
