NOTE

Using Mindset Reset to Overcome Social Anxiety

In an experiment, participants diagnosed with social anxiety disorder were divided into two groups. One group received a mindset reset before giving a public speech, while the other did not. The group that received the mindset reset performed better and exhibited lower levels of anxiety. The mindset reset involved normalizing the physical symptoms of anxiety and providing scientific explanations for these symptoms. The participants were informed that their racing heart and butterflies in their stomach were actually preparing them to perform at their peak. This information helped them reframe their anxiety as a positive response and allowed them to approach the situation with more confidence. The results suggest that with the right information, individuals with social anxiety disorder can learn to manage and utilize their anxiety instead of being overwhelmed by it.
