Reducing the consumption of certain foods by 50 percent is a significant step towards better health, as it cuts hundreds of calories per day, reduces inflammation in the body, and prevents damage to mitochondria and insulin sensitivity. Consumption of refined foods can lead to weight gain, obesity, diabetes, and ultimately reduce lifespan. While completely eliminating such foods may be challenging, reducing intake by half can still yield substantial benefits by avoiding foods like breakfast cereals and biscuits that can spike blood glucose levels and lead to unwanted calorie intake. Monitoring blood glucose levels can provide valuable insights into the impact of different foods on the body.
