Work Smarter, Not Harder

The time taken for a process is determined by the number of tasks in progress and the time it takes to complete each task. Little's Law highlights the effect of reducing work in process on the overall start-to-finish time. While the focus is often on improving cycle time by working faster, significant improvements can be achieved by working smarter, i.e., reducing work in process. It is ingrained in human nature to focus on working harder, but the key is to adopt the learned behavior of pausing to consider working smarter instead. This shift in mindset can lead to substantial enhancements in efficiency and productivity.
