In negotiations, sharing information with colleagues, families, and friends can lead to joint problem solving. When transitioning to the problem-solving stage, express appreciation for the shared information, invite the other party to wrap up, and ask if they have any remaining questions. Then, provide a solution to kickstart the problem-solving session, aiming to be the first to offer a solution and anchor the negotiation.
