NOTE

Toyota's Early Development and Reverse Engineering of Engines

In 1929, Japan realized the need to develop an automobile industry and appointed a committee to work on it. Nisan, Azuzu, and Toyota were asked to design a standard chassis, but the challenge was in creating engines like those in Europe and America. Toyota's founder, Kichio, focused on not just building cars, but on creating a system of production. Understanding the importance of successful processes, he decided to reverse engineer and copy the Chevy engine, making it so exact that it could accept Chevy replacement parts. This strategy allowed Toyota to overcome resource and financial constraints, ensuring efficient maintenance and repair by ordering parts from Chevy when needed.
