In the past, when people felt down, they would seek help and support from their relatives. Nowadays, people isolate themselves and think that nobody loves them because nobody is reaching out. This feedback cycle worsens their depression. However, we lack data on mood problems in different cultures. Traditionally, people believe that feeling bad means something is wrong, but it may not be the person's fault. After studying emotions for a year and a half, I realized that I treated emotional disorders without understanding why emotions exist.
