In Our Time

NOTE

The tale we tell is never the truth we live.

We struggle to comprehend the essence of our lives due to an inherent impulse to narrate them through structured stories that feature a beginning, middle, and end. This storytelling endeavor ultimately distorts our understanding, as the notion of a 'true story' is flawed; there is no definitive narrative that encapsulates our existence. We continuously attempt to envision how our present circumstances might be perceived in the future, whether in autobiographical reflections or obituaries, creating an artificial conclusion that lacks clarity. Consequently, we are perpetually trapped in a cycle of misunderstanding ourselves, where the narrative of our life is primarily composed of the stories that misrepresent our reality.
