Different sugars are processed differently
Agave, dried fruit, and cured meats contain different types of sugars such as fructose, lactose, and maltose. These sugars are processed differently in the body. Glucose is absorbed directly into the bloodstream, while fructose is processed in the liver and does not create the same insulin response as glucose. According to Harvard, for most people, one type of sugar isn't better than another.
