How to cut down food waste (and fight climate change)

NOTE

Value Lost in Waste

People tend to diligently search for lost items of value, such as a $20 hat or water bottle, which highlights our intrinsic understanding of value and the significant waste occurring in food. In the U.S., hundreds of dollars worth of food are discarded monthly, driven by a misunderstanding of sell by dates. These dates merely indicate freshness rather than safety, leading to unnecessary disposal of good food. For instance, milk nearing its expiration can still be used creatively, such as transforming it into pancakes or buttermilk, illustrating that food that seems 'bad' may still possess value and usability.
